When the binding needs adjustment
Clamped double wire spirals are inconvenient to open with flat clamps because they easily damage the leaves and deform the element unevenly. A special opener allows control of the action along the binding edge.
An auxiliary, not a binding device
The opener does not perform perforation or final clamping of the coil. After document correction, a new wire element and a compatible spiral clamping mechanism may be required.
